Desmond Bane's heroics in the fourth quarter propelled the Orlando Magic to a thrilling comeback victory over the Toronto Raptors, 130-120. In a game that had the crowd on the edge of their seats, Bane's 16 points in the final quarter were the difference-makers, helping the Magic overcome a 13-point deficit.
But here's where it gets controversial... With the Magic down by 14 points late in the third, Brandon Ingram and Scottie Barnes took control, leading a 19-8 run that gave the Raptors a comfortable lead heading into the final quarter. However, Bane's clutch performance, including a series of 3-pointers, changed the momentum and sparked a Magic rally that left the Raptors reeling.
And this is the part most people miss... Orlando's success from beyond the arc was a key factor in their victory. Shooting 17 for 34 from 3-point range, the Magic's long-range accuracy proved decisive. In contrast, the Raptors struggled in the fourth, making only 5 of 18 shots and 7 of 28 from long range.
Paolo Banchero also had a standout performance, contributing 20 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists. Wendell Carter Jr. added 23 points and seven rebounds, while Anthony Black chipped in with 25 points and six assists.
The Raptors, despite Ingram's 35-point effort and Barnes' all-around game (19 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 blocks), couldn't hold off the Magic's late surge.
So, what do you think? Was it Bane's individual brilliance that turned the tide, or was it the Magic's collective effort from beyond the arc? Let us know in the comments!
